April Kim Tonin’s illustrations are featured in Mark Bittman’s first cookbook for kids, How to Cook Everything Kids (HarperCollins, 2024). Tonin has also created illustrations for retail products for The Frick Collection. Her work has been published by The Lily (a former publication of The Washington Post), The Dalton School, The Union of Concerned Scientists and Timeout New York. Her art is also in the collections of the Museum of the City of New York, as well as private and corporate clients. A veteran museum administrator and educator, Tonin is the former head of education and public engagement at The Frick Collection. She has also held posts at the Museum of Arts and Design, the Nightingale-Bamford School and at The Museum of Modern Art. Tonin has an M.A. in art history from Columbia University and a B.A. in Fine Arts and French from Mount Holyoke College.
